Author of “My Daddy, the Devil, and Me”

Living in Freehold, New Jersey, Debra Davis is a proud loving mother to her two sons and six grandchildren. Debra graduated from Brookdale Community College back in May 2007, earning a certificate of achievement as an entrepreneur.

Mrs. Davis has also obtained a degree in Biblical Studies from the Monmouth Bible Institute. She attained an Associate’s Degree in Ministry as well, completing her courses on June 4, 2016.

Her plans for the future have led her to pursue a life in ministry as she has returned back to biblical seminary. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Ministry from the Eastern Bible Institute June 4, 2018. She has since returned and graduated June 2020 with her Master's of Divinity.

The ultimate goal for Debra is to go as high as she can in pursuit of a doctorate in Theology. Her greatest passion is to help heal the wounds of people who have been through traumatic and stressful experiences and help them find healthier perceptions of themselves. She also wants them to strengthen their relationships with other people so that they can see themselves as peaceful, complete, whole, and safe individuals.

Her interests include traveling, reading, being with her family, and preaching the gospel. Debra’s favorite scripture is Ephesians 3:20: “Now unto Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that worketh in us.”

In November 2009, she ultimately published her memoir entitled, “My Daddy, the Devil, and Me.” The book generated great reviews and was also featured on the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN).

Mrs. Davis was the recipient of Sarah’s Daughters Women Award for “People Who Make a Difference” at the annual Domestic Violence Women’s Conference back in October 2012.

In March 2013, she also received an award from the Ocean County’s National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Chapter in Women’s History Month, honoring the brave women who performed extraordinary deeds in the community.

She has also been the owner of “Angels in Your Home” for more than a decade. In addition, Debra has started a Ministry titled The Church Outside The Walls, and an online Book Club, titled "Supporting Black Authors Book Club", where she interviews several Authors. One of her favorite activities is visiting the inmates at the Monmouth County Jail, bringing them hope as she facilitates Bible studies.

Debra is also a member of the Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network (RAINN) in Washington, DC. People may see her in commercials—the survivors series—on a few television stations that include the Turner Broadcasting System (TBS), USA Network, and PBA, as well as on YouTube.
